11/13/12 to 11/19/12

Dear Students,    We will continue our Circuit Training Challenge through-out the Month , promoting physical fitness and all students will do their best maintaining their " class feather" on our Gym Turkey.  In this case, the students are "tricky turkeys" by handling this fun challenge very well!  Adaptations are always made as needed.    We will continue our " Standing Broad Jump" fitness test for leg strength and power while others practice at various skills stations for self-improvement and exercise.    I've made some adjustments to our lesson this past cycle due to height and weight measurements being done during P.E. time, so we'll continue some of our locomotor fun and skills evaluation after this cycle with our younger students. Good Sports know how to be flexible and we'll make adjustments as needed.    We will participate in a variety of Thanksgiving theme-related activities for added fun and exercise. One of these activities uses sports equipment to set the Thanksgiving table in the form of a relay race/learning experience, which some classes will participate in, so at home they can be great helpers in setting the table,( a life-skill application).  Our youngest students will feel like they're " Dancing with the Stars" while performing a Turkey Tango-style dance! Some will listen to a story, if time allows.  Students will be discussing and some will be writing what they are thankful for. I am thankful for Good Sports!
