Please wear your sneakers and be ready for some wintertime favorites and Holiday games and activities in P.E. class. We will begin our upper body strength tests this week. Our main objective is to always promote physical fitness in P.E. class and continue to promote our Walking Clubs and Fitness Friday. We also promote exercise beyond the school day via extra-curricular activities with friends and Family Fun, too! Recently, we have been offering the opportunity to apply for free passes to those 4th and 5th grade students whose families participate in winter activities at area ski resorts. This week in gym we will practice positive interactions, practice good throwing form with accuracy, blocking and team cooperation skills, as well as practice many other skills while doing our best and having fun! We're shaping up in gym class! Keep up the good work!

We will finish up our Circuit Training Challenge. Our Gym Turkey looks great, displaying "Class" feathers representing best efforts. Way to go, kids! We will finish our jumping tests/re-tests. We will participate in fun activities with a Thanksgiving Theme and our youngest students will perform a simple-style Tango Dance.(We're Dancing with the Stars!) Please do your best on Fitness Friday and I'll see you through-out the week for Walking Clubs. "Happy Thanksgiving", everyone! Remember to exercise! I am thankful for "Good Sports!"

We will maintain our Gym Turkey with "Class" feathers showing best efforts during November's Circuit Training Challenge. Our jumping test for leg strength continues. Everyone- please remember to wear sneakers and remember to practice your exercises every day to stay in shape. We'll be " on a roll" in gym class with some Cageball Fun! I look forward to seeing you in Walking Clubs and for everyone to do their best on Fitness Friday! See you in P.E. class soon!

November 4, 2008 We will start building our Gym Turkey with "Class" feathers representing great efforts during our circuit training challenge for the month of November. We will continue our jumping test for leg strength and we will enjoy some locomotor fun and rhythms,some relay action and games of cooperation. As always, we like to promote physical fitness with variety! I'll look for you in Walking Clubs and get ready for Fitness Friday, when I'll also announce our 10 point winners,who will be receiving their rewards in their next P.E. class. Go Good Sports! Get ready for "Kid's Choice" Activities in gym class! We will exercise the voting process to choose a favorite activity and all Good Sports will be happy with their choices. We will continue to rattle "Mr. Bones", an activity used to reinforce our knowledge of the skeletal system. Perhaps we will even exercise our "funny bone." Bring in a good joke or riddle for our next P.E. class if you are in the Leader Squad. Please wear your sneakers so you can jump your farthest on our next test. I look forward to seeing you in Walking Clubs, too! Let's choose to do our best while we have fun in P.E. Class. Remember Halloween safety, too. P.S. Go Phillies!!!!

Be sure to wear your sneakers for your next gym class! I challenge you to escape from the " spiders " that have arrived in the gym. It's time for our obstacle course including good music to help keep us motivated ( I might even include a few polkas in honor of Heritage Week ). Are you ready for this fun fitness challenge? Our next fitness test will be the standing broad/long jump( an indicator of leg strength ), for all grade levels. We will sharpen our throwing skills by practicing with a football and some other physical skills as well and then all "Good Sports" will move on to some great "Flag Tag" action! Hi Good Sports! Our first Physical Fitness Test is going well! We have some fast runners in our gym classes. Kindergarten is doing the "Dash" and First through Sixth Grade is doing the "Shuttle Run."
